The match is over.
Score: 2-0.

The Serie A 2018/19 campaign concludes on Sunday with a clash between two teams who are badly out of form despite both enjoying hugely successful domestic campaigns. Juve are champions while Samp will finish in the top half of the standings.

Sampdoria go into this clash with just two points in their last five matches and only one win in their last eight attempts as their season has petered out.

Marco Giampaolo’s side have overall had a decent season and will finish ninth – they are eight points off Lazio in eighth but seven clear of 10th-placed Sassuolo.

Juventus too are in a strange decline of form, they are without a win in four Serie A matches and have just one win in their last six, despite wrapping up the league title last month.

Despite their bad run of form, they remain 11 points clear at the top of the table and this will be boss Max Allegri’s final game in charge after winning the league title in each of his five seasons at the club.

The visitors will be favourites to get back to winning ways despite not possessing home advantage, as they hold superior quality over Sampdoria.

The away side are favourites to win this game although it may not be comfortable and with both teams struggling for form so much a 1-1 draw would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Juventus have lost two of their last six matches and three in their last 10 having been unbeaten through their opening 27 matches. Their form is poor and are without a win in their last four matches, a run which has included three draws. Samp’s form has been poor too but they are the home team and without pressure, are well-placed to inflict further damage to Juve here. 10 bet have put them at 21/10 for a draw no bet here, which is among the best online betting odds for this round of action.

Linked into the previous bet, the visitors dreadful recent form means that chances of an away victory are much slimmer than what is represented in the market. In their last trip to Genova they crashed to a 2-0 defeat to Genoa back in March but Samp are the stronger of those two city rivals and are should be backed to take at least a point in this fixture.

Head to Head

Juve have won seven of the past eight meetings between these two teams including a hard-fought 2-1 win back in December, when Samp were controversially denied a late leveller. The Bianconeri lost their last trip to Sampdoria – 3-2 loss back in November 2017.

  • 12 of the 21 points that Juventus have dropped this season have come across their last six matches.
  • Indeed, Max Allegri’s side have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions when the two matches against Ajax in the Champions League are factored in.
  • After winning four of five matches until the end of March, Sampdoria’s hopes of Europe totally faded with a run of just one win in eight.
  • Fabio Quagliarella is the top scorer in Serie A this campaign with 26 strikes to his name – four ahead of nearest challenger Duvan Zapata (Atalanta) and five clear of Juve’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
