Napoli vs Juventus Serie A Predictions

Serie A Napoli vs Juventus
Napoli vs Juventus Serie A

The match is over.
Score: 1-2.

This is the standout game of the Serie A – and arguably, the European football – weekend with Italy’s top two sides going head to head in Naples. Juventus are slight favourites due to their imperious form this campaign, but this could be their toughest test of the season.

Juventus are well on their way to their eighth successive Italian league title – they sit 13 points clear of Napoli at the top of the Serie A standings.

The Bianconeri have dropped just six points in their 25 league matches this season and remain unbeaten – the only team to be so across Europe’s top five leagues.

Napoli are enjoying a strong campaign under Carlo Ancelotti with a strong return of 56 points from their games thus far – nine points clear of Inter in third.

However, the Neapolitans are seemingly destined to finish in second place this season and will redirect their priorities towards the Europa League, where they are in the last 16.

The visitors will be slight favourites to continue their winning form here despite not possessing home advantage, due to their superior form and quality over Napoli, although it will be close.

The away side are slight favourites to win this game although a draw is more likely – a 1-1 result would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Napoli have failed to score in four of their last six domestic matches while Juventus have already won 20 matches to nil this season. It would represent a hugely impressive result for Max Allegri’s side but the market ricing has placed this among the best online betting odds for this round of fixtures.

Two of the last three meetings between these sides have ended 1-0 and that is another likely outcome for this game. Defences are likely to be on top again in this encounter with chances likely to be at a premium. Two of Napoli’s last three matches have ended goalless while Juve have conceded just 15 goals in 25 league games to date.

Head to Head
Juventus won the meeting between the two sides 3-1 in Turin earlier this campaign with a Mario Mandzukic double propelling Max Allegri’s side to victory. The last meeting between the sides in Naples, in December 2017, ended 1-0 to Juve thanks to Gonzalo Higuain’s strike.

  • Juventus have collected 69 points from their opening 25 leagues games – they are the only undefeated side across Europe’s top five leagues.
  • Juve’s away form has been even more impressive, dropping just two points in their 12 away league games to date – conceding just seven goals in the process.
  • Napoli are enjoying extremely impressive home form this season, they are undefeated in their 13 Serie A home games this season – winning 10 times and drawing three.
  • Juve are on course for their eighth Italian title in succession – what would be a club record.
