Juventus vs Udinese Serie A Predictions

Serie A Juventus vs Udinese
Juventus vs Udinese Serie A

The match is over.
Score: 4-1.

With Juventus holding Serie A in the palm of their hands, this game against Udinese should be another simple step towards their Invincibles season, but with the Champions League on the horizon for the Old Lady, could this be the game where they slip up?

This should be a straight forward win for Juve but if they decide to rest a few players ahead of their Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, Udinese may sneak in for a shock result that could throw Juve’s season up in the air.

Udinese will naturally go into this game as straight underdogs given their opposition but two wins in a row against Chievo and Bologna will give them as much confidence as they can get.

Juventus know that a win in this game almost ends the Scudetto title race completely, with three points putting them 19 ahead of Napoli, who play later in the weekend.

Prior to their recent brace of wins, Udinese had lost to Parma, Sampdoria and Torino while drawing against Fiorentina, which put them perilously close to the relegation zone.

With home advantage, Juve will be favourites to make it their nine wins out of their last 11 games, something for top bookies to keep in mind.

For Udinese, a win here would see them leap up to 14th for the time being and dragging themselves further away from any potential relegation trouble. But it’s unlikely and even with Europe in mind, Juventus can win 4-1.

Betting Tips

Juventus are overwhelming favourites for this clash so a home win carries very little risk while it is also highly likely that they’ll put a few past Udinese as warm up for the Champions League. Going for a correct score of Juve winning 4-1 comes in at 18/1 from 888Sport.

These are lengthy odds for an outcome which is more probable than they reflect. If Juve start a bit slower than usual and Udinese hold on for a 0-0 at half time, it wouldn’t be out of this world to see Cristiano Ronaldo and his mates smash a few past Udinese just to get the job done, rated at 16/5 by 888sport.

Head to Head
In 89 matches between Juventus and Udinese, the Old Lady have won 60 games compared to Udine’s 12. Juventus have scored 184 goals while Udinese have scored 71, with John Hansen, Alessandro Del Piero, Pippo Inzaghi, Roberto Baggio and Paulo Dybala making up the top five scorers in the history of this fixture.

  • Juventus still haven’t lost in Serie A this season, but have drawn twice at home against a Gervinho inspired Parma and Genoa earlier in the season.
  • Udinese might feel confident after their two recent wins but their awful away record of one win in 11 games isn’t going to fill anyone up with confidence.
  • Given how remarkable they’ve been this season, Juventus have scored 28 goals and conceded eight at home this season, while their only loss at home in all competitions came against Manchester United in the Champions League.
  • Udinese’s only away win of the season came back in September against Chievo Verona, the side that are currently sitting rock bottom of the league with one win and 10 points to their name (they did have a three point deduction at the start of the season, but they’d still be bottom without the deduction).
