Juventus will be expected to continue their Serie A dominance by seeing off draw-happy Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday afternoon.

Juventus are once again cruising through a Serie A campaign, with Saturday’s victory over SPAL meaning that the Old Lady have dropped just two points from a possible 39 so far this season.

Massimiliano Allegri’s men are eight points clear of nearest rivals Napoli, who must negotiate a potentially tricky trip to Atalanta this weekend, leaving Juve with a good opportunity to stretch the gap.

The Italian champions have won all eight of their away matches across all competitions so far this season.
Fiorentina’s stalemate at Bologna on Sunday meant it was a fifth consecutive draw for the Viola for the first time in 29 years and they remain lodged in mid-table.

Stefano Pioli will be looking for an improvement from his team if they’re to fulfil the pre-season ambitions of achieving a Europa League qualification spot.
However, any improvements are unlikely to happen for another week at least, with Juventus looking good for another 2-0 away victory.

Betting Tips

Unsurprisingly, Juventus have the best defensive record in Italy’s top flight, conceding only eight goals in 13 league matches. The Old Lady have been solid on their travels, conceding just a single goal in their last six away games in all competitions, shutting out the likes of Milan, Manchester United and Valencia. Juventus have also kept clean sheets in their last two fixtures against Fiorentina.

Fiorentina’s last seven matches have seen two goals or fewer scored, with the Viola’s problem seemingly hitting the back of the net rather than preventing other teams from doing so. Juventus have not been full of goals away from Turin, scoring no more than two in their last seven away matches themselves.

Head to Head
Juventus won at the Stadio Artemio Franchi last season, with second half goals from Fernando Bernadeschi and Gonzalo Higuain seeing off Fiorentina.

However, the season before that, the Viola pulled off a surprise victory on home turf. Nikola Kalinic and Milan Badelj goals did the damage for the hosts, rendering Higuain’s late finish as mere consolation.

  • Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo has nine Serie A goals this season, with only Genoa’s Krzysztof Piatek scoring more (10).
  • Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa has had 34 shots on goal this season – the seventh most in Serie A – but has scored just twice.
  • Only Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo has committed more fouls this season than Fiorentina midfielder Gerson (35).
  • Juventus have collected the fewest yellow cards of any team in Serie A (23).
