The match is over.
Score: 2-1.

The Premier League returns this midweek following a weekend of FA Cup action with an important clash in North London between third-placed Tottenham and an in-form Watford, who currently sit seventh.

Predictions

This is a meeting between two sides in strong form – Tottenham are third in the Premier League while Watford sit four places behind in the standings but have lost just one of the last nine in all competitions.

Watford’s narrow home defeat against Chelsea on Boxing Day is their only defeat in nine and they have won four of their last eight.

That run of form has taken the Hornets into seventh in the Premier League but they sit 11 points adrift of Manchester United in sixth, and 18 points behind Spurs.

Tottenham have lost each of their last two Premier League home games and have six defeats in total in the league this season – more than any other side in the top six.

The hosts will be favourites to win this tie due to possessing home advantage, superior form and quality over Watford.

The home side are favourites to win this game although due to injuries and the visitors form it may not be so clear – a 2-2 draw between the sides would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Four of Spurs’ six home defeats this season have come at home, including each of their last two – against Wolves and Manchester United. Watford meanwhile have lost just three of their 11 matches on the road this season and none of their last four. This bet is among the best online betting odds available for this midweek round of action, and is available at 23/20 with 888Sport.

Spurs are without prime attacking talents Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son and have netted just two goals in their last two Premier League matches. The Hornets will aim to keep this game tonight and the hosts have a lack of attacking options, so a low-scoring game could be a likely outcome. It’s 11/10 at 888Sport for under 2.5 goals.
