Tottenham vs Manchester United Premier League

The match is over.
Score: 0-1.

The Premier League returns this weekend with an important clash between top six rivals Tottenham and Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in a game the hosts are narrow favourites to win, although both sides are in strong form.

Predictions

Both these sides are in ominously strong form – Spurs have won six of their last seven matches while Manchester United have won all five games under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, Tottenham fell to a surprise defeat in their most recent home match – a 3-1 loss at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, their third home league defeat of the campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have still now drawn a league match all season – they have 16 victories and five defeats from their opening 21 matches.

Manchester United are 10 points behind their opponents but have won five games in a row in all competitions, netting 16 goals in the process.

The hosts will be favourites to continue their pursuit of the league’s top two teams although Manchester United are in-form and full of confidence, so this is a very tough game to call.

The home side are favourites to win this game although it may not be as straightforward as that – a 1-1 draw for between the teams would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Only Liverpool and Manchester City have scored more league goals than Tottenham (46) this season while United are fifth on the list with 43 strikes of their own. Furthermore, Spurs have wracked up an incredible 22 goals in their last five outings in all competitions while United have 16 in that timeframe. It is clear where the strength of both teams lie and this among the best online betting odds for the round of fixtures this weekend.

United have won all five games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and each of those victories has been thoroughly merited and each of the four league outings have been relatively emphatic. This match will be easily their toughest test under the Norwegian yet but they are in such good form and carry a high level of momentum into this fixture, that such odds are favorable for United to get at least a draw here.
