Premier League Tottenham vs Huddersfield
Tottenham vs Huddersfield Premier League

The match is over.
Score: 4-0.

With Huddersfield already relegated and Tottenham looking to further their grip on a Champions League spot, this should be a walkover for the North London club but with pride on the line, the Terries may put a spanner in the works.

This could be quite a lopsided affair with Spurs in potentially rampant mood in the first early kick off at their new stadium, but they may struggle under the expectation given that they’ll be the first of the Champions League chasing sides to play this weekend.

Huddersfield will obviously be underdogs for this game considering that they’ve only twice since November 25th, incidentally both wins against Wolves.

After beating Crystal Palace and not losing any ground on 3rd, Tottenham will be looking to make it two Premier League wins out of two and putting an end to a losing run that was their worst for seven years.

Huddersfield have only actually won three games all season with the two wins against Wolves alongside a home win against Fulham which ended 1-0.

Despite being on a terrible run of form, Spurs have only lost at home once since the New Year (against Man United) but it must be said that since that game, they’ve only played five games in front of their own fans compared to five away from home.

The London club will be heavy favourites for this game and while it may not be a gubbing of the highest order, it will still be a big score line so it’ll be smart to go with a 3-0 Spurs win.

Betting Tips

Tottenham will certainly fancy their chances of taking all three points against a side that’s already down, but it’s unlike Spurs to embarrass the opposition by hammering them. 888sport have 3-0 as 11/2 which is fair considering that this match only truly matters to the home side, but it’s still one of the best bets you’ll see all weekend.

Dele hasn’t scored for Spurs since their 2-1 win away at Fulham earlier in the season and only has five goals all season, which has maybe pushed him out of the bookies’ thoughts in this market, but after missing 12 games through injury across the Premier League campaign, he’ll be itching to get his first goal at the new stadium, with this bet rated at 5/1 by 888sport.

Head to Head

Despite both teams having a lot of history behind them, they’ve only ever played each other three times with Tottenham coming out winners on every occasion.

  • Spurs are yet to concede a goal against Huddersfield yet, with the game earlier this season being 2-0, the Wembley match last season being 2-0 and the first game between these two being 4-0 to Spurs.
  • Harry Kane is the fixture’s top scorer with four goals, two ahead of Heung Min Son and three ahead of both Ben Davies and Moussa Sissoko.
  • Huddersfield need just one more goal to equal the record set by Derby County of least amount of goals scored in a single Premier League season. The ‘record’ is currently 20 goals with Huddersfield sitting on 19.
