Manchester United vs Fulham Premier League

Saturday December 8th, 15:00

The Premier League’s bottom side Fulham will look to make their way out of the relegation zone, while Manchester United will hope a win helps their game of catch-up with the top four

Predictions

The trip to the red half of Manchester is not as daunting as it once was. Jose Mourinho’s side are already sixteen points off the top of the table 14 games in. They have failed to win their last three games, scrapping a draw at Southampton in their latest result.

But as bad as their football has been, bottom dwellers Fulham shouldn’t impede their progress to much, likely winning by as much as 3-1.

Betting Tips

With or without Ranieri, Fulham have shipped goals this season at an almost comical rate. They conceded two against both Southampton and Chelsea showing little in the way of improved defensive fortitude.

Manchester United have been down to the bare bones defensively, with Mourinho forced to play midfielder Scott McTominay in central defence against Southampton. Considering the poor defensives of both sides, no doubt most top betting sites will be predicting goals in this game..

Manchester United have been incredibly slow starters in recent games, picking up their performance near the end of matches. Jose Mourinho’s side have forced comebacks against Bournemouth, Juventus and Southampton in the past month.

Statistics

Head to Head

Fulham’s recent overall record against Manchester United is not a good one, failing to win any of their last 10 encounters and losing the previous six in a row.

It has been a while since the two have played each other with Fulham languishing in the Championship for the last four seasons. The last match between these sides was back in early 2014, when Fulham snatched a late draw at Old Trafford thanks to a 90th minute Darren Bent header.

Stats

  • Fulham have conceded 35 goals in the Premier League this season – their joint-most after 14 games of a top-flight league campaign (35 in 1959-60).
  • Fulham have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last 18 games in the Premier League and are the only side yet to keep one in the competition this season.
  • Fulham’s Aleksandr Mitrovic has scored five goals in his last five Premier League home games.
  • Man Utd are without a win in three Premier League games for the first time since December 2017 (D2 L1)
  • Manchester United have conceded 23 goals in their 14 league games this season; it wasn’t until their 30th Premier League game of 2017-18 that they conceded their 23rd goal last season
