Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will put his faultless Premier League record as Manchester United manager on the line once more when Burnley visit Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

Having won their last six Premier League matches in a row, Manchester United have emerged as dark horses in the race for a top four finish.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can do no wrong at the moment and United sit just three points off the Champions League qualification places.

United haven’t been beaten in a domestic match at Old Trafford since being hammered by Tottenham Hotspur way back in August.

Burnley’s relegation worries have eased after collecting ten points from the last 12 available in the league.

But the Clarets are still only three points ahead of 18th-placed Cardiff City and face fellow bottom half dwellers Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion in the next fortnight.

Burnley can look to recent history as inspiration for Tuesday’s game, but United should be able to sneak a nervy 1-0 win.

Burnley are unbeaten in five matches, with Sean Dyche’s men rediscovering their steely, hard-to-beat reputation in victories over Huddersfield Town, Fulham and West Ham United. The Clarets have enjoyed their recent trips to Old Trafford and could make it difficult for Solskjaer’s side. 888sport have Burnley at 47/20 to win with a one-goal head start.

Solskjaer’s reign started with a flurry of goals as United scored 12 in their first three matches under the Norwegian. However, recent results – against the likes of Newcastle United and Brighton – have been more low-scoring. A resurgent Burnley could frustrate the hosts – 888sport have under 2.5 goals priced at 8/5.

Head to Head

Manchester United eased past Burnley in the reverse fixture at Turf Moor in September, with Romelu Lukaku scoring twice in a 2-0 win. However, the Clarets have avoided defeat on their last two visits to Old Trafford, drawing 2-2 last season and securing a stalemate in the 2016/17 campaign. Burnley’s last win over United came in their first Premier League match at Turf Moor, with Robbie Blake grabbing the winner in August 2009.

  • Burnley’s James Tarkowski has made more blocks than any other Premier League player (36), with team mate Ben Mee in second place (29).
  • Only Lukasz Fabianski and Neil Etheridge have made more saves than David De Gea this season, but only four goalkeepers have fewer clean sheets than the Manchester United stopper.
  • Burnley forward Chris Wood has been caught offside more than any other Premier League player (28).
  • Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the third manager in history to win his first six Premier League matches in charge.
