A few weeks ago, this game would’ve been huge considering what was at stake with Leicester chasing the Europa League and Chelsea desperately trying to get into the Champions League but with the Londoners securing the top four place, it all looks a little bit quiet in this one.

Predictions

With the circumstance going into this game and the position that Chelsea may find themselves in with the Europa League, Maurizio Sarri may field a weaker team, thus skewing the odds completely and with the large squad Chelsea tend to carry, it’s hard to predict what XI will take to the field.

Leicester’s last few games have seen them lose to Newcastle, draw against West Ham, beat Arsenal at home and push Manchester City all the way, as their inconsistency towards the back end of the season has seen them drop down to 9th place.

Chelsea, on the other hand, have already clinched Champions League football next season thanks to their win against Watford and Arsenal failing to beat Brighton, with the win at home against Watford ending a run of three consecutive draws.

Leicester did manage to beat Fulham, Burnley, Bournemouth and Huddersfield when Brendan Rodgers first arrived before their run of games against Newcastle, West Ham and Arsenal.

Chelsea’s win against Watford stopped their run of three draws in a row with those results coming against Frankfurt in the Europa League, Manchester United and Burnley.

The Blues will be favourites to win this game because of their talent but given that they may be resting a few players, it may not be the worst decision to bet for a draw. An exciting 2-2 wouldn’t be a surprise but if you did want to back Chelsea, 2-1 may be the way to go.

Betting Tips

A 2-2 may not seem too likely but when it’s the final day of the season and there isn’t much on the line, sometimes there are a few results that throw up big scores. – 888sport have it as 21/1 when backing the draw. Leicester will be wanting to take another scalp of one of the big six this weekend so they’ll be going for it, while this may be one of the better odds of the final day of the Premier League season.

These are lengthy odds for an outcome which is more probable than they reflect. You can picture Chelsea taking a 1-0 lead into the half time break before a revitalised Leicester side fight back for a point.  Home advantage should significantly shift the momentum in this game if the fans get up for the team, with this particular bet being rated at 23/2 by 888sport.
