Score: 0-3.

The Premier League continues this weekend with a game in Yorkshire between two sides with significantly different outlooks for the remainder of the campaign. The visitors are huge favourites to win against the side who lie bottom of the league.

Manchester City are huge favourites to win this game and continue their battle with Liverpool for this year’s league title, while Huddersfield are in rotten form.

The hosts secured a 0-0 draw at Cardiff last time out to end a run of nine straight defeats in all competitions and still lie eight points from safety in the standings.

This is the start of a very challenging run of fixtures for the Terriers, immediately preceding games against Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side appear to have recovered from the Christmas blip when they lost ties against Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

The visitors will be strong favourites to continue their resurgence despite not possessing home advantage, as they have vastly superior form and quality over Huddersfield.

The away side are favourites to win this game and it should be relatively comfortable – a 3-1 triumph for the Premier League champions would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Huddersfield held City to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad last season and only lost this fixture 2-1. The hosts have netted just 13 goals in 22 league outings but conversely have conceded only 37 – just five more than Manchester United and Arsenal. A low-scoring away win is among the best online betting odds in this matchday.

City should be completely driven and focused following recent league slip ups, and this can be proved in their recent landslide cup victories over Burton Albion and Rotherham United. They will look to take the lead early in this game and be able to play within themselves for the remainder of the game.

Head to Head

Perhaps somewhat surprisingly both meetings between the two last season were extremely close – City had to come from a goal down to win in Yorkshire while the Terriers held the champions to a 0-0 draw in Manchester. However the meeting earlier in the campaign finished 6-1 to Pep Guardiola’s side.

  • Manchester City have won six times and collected 20 points from their 10 away league games to date this season – the fourth best record in the league.
  • Huddersfield have won just one of their 11 home matches to date, collecting just five points and scoring five goals in that run.
  • David Wagner’s side have not won any of their last 10 matches in all competitions – a run stretching back to November, when they defeated Wolves 0-2.
  • The victory at Molineux was the only time this season that Huddersfield have scored more than one goal in a game.
