Chelsea vs Burnley Premier League

Monday April 22nd, 20:00

The Premier League’s Monday night football sees an important match which could impact both ends of the table, with top-four chasing Chelsea playing host to Burnley, who are looking to secure their top-flight status.

Predictions

Chelsea’s defeat at Liverpool last time out has once more put their hopes of a top four finish back in the balance, sitting one place behind third-placed Tottenham despite playing one game more.

The Blues had won four games on the spin in all competitions prior to their trip to Anfield but with Arsenal and Manchester United also battling hard for a Champions League finish, every point is now crucial.

They face a Burnley side who are bang in form, having won each of their last three matches in the division to see them rise to 14th in the standings.

Sean Dyche’s side now look almost certain to once more be in the top flight next campaign following wins over Wolves, Bournemouth and Cardiff.

The hosts will be favourites to get back to winning ways in the division due to possessing home advantage and superior quality over Burnley.

The home side are favourites to win this game although it may not be comfortable – a 2-0 triumph for the West London side would appear a likely outcome from it.

Score Prediction

Four of Chelsea’s last six games had two goals or fewer while Burnley have kept two clean sheets in their last three matches. Both sides are stronger in defence and in organisational terms rather than in attack. The visitors will look to sit deep and frustrate the hosts. Chelsea have scored only two goals or fewer in nine of their last 11 Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge. 10Bet price under 2.5 goals at 5/4.

The England international is in good goalscoring form having recently found the net in league victories over both Cardiff and Brighton. The midfielder also netted in the 4-0 win at Burnley earlier in the campaign and his runs into the box may prove the key to unlock the visiting defence. This is among the best online betting odds for this weekend’s round of action, priced at 7/2 by Unibet.
