Brighton vs Chelsea Premier League Predictions

Brighton vs Chelsea Premier League

Sunday December 16th, 13:30

Chelsea will consolidate their place in the top four of the Premier League if they beat Brighton & Hove Albion at The American Express Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Predictions

Chelsea brought an end to Manchester City’s fantastic unbeaten Premier League run with a 2-0 victory over the champions last weekend at Stamford Bridge.

That victory was only the Blues’ second in five league matches but has improved morale around the club as Maurizio Sarri’s men attempt to close the eight-point gap to leaders Liverpool.

Chelsea will hope for a more positive result on the south coast than those they’ve picked up in their last two away league encounters, both of which ended in defeat to the surprise of punters on betting sites.

Brighton’s three-game unbeaten run ended with a whimper as they went down 1-0 to Burnley last Saturday.

But Chris Hughton’s charges are still in a safe mid-table spot, 11 points above the drop zone after 16 matches.

Chelsea will need to replicate their performance against Manchester City if they’re to collect maximum points but they should win 3-1 if they do.

Betting Tips

Chelsea’s previous two Premier League away games were ones to forget as they lost 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur and 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Brighton haven’t failed to score in any of their home matches this season and put three past Crystal Palace in their last outing at The American Express Community Stadium.

The losses to Tottenham and Wolves will have worried Maurizio Sarri but the win over Manchester City will have created a real buzz in the changing room. Prior to those away defeats, Chelsea had hammered Burnley and Southampton on their travels and there could be a return to those clinical football performances from the Blues.
