Arsenal vs Huddersfield Premier League

Saturday December 8th, 15:00

A busy week of Premier League football concludes this coming weekend with struggling Huddersfield facing a huge task as they travel to take on in-form Arsenal in North London, with the home side heavily fancied to pick up three points.

Predictions

Both these sides enter this game in sharply contrasting spells of form, with Arsenal pushing for a top four spot and Huddersfield seeking to climb away from the relegation places.

The Gunners have not lost a match since August while Huddersfield have managed just two league victories all season, although each of those has arrived within the past three weeks.

David Wagner’s side recently recorded a 2-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers to follow up on a home victory over Fulham, but they will be hard pressed to get anything from this trip to North London.

Unai Emery’s side have bounced back from losing each of their opening two games this season – winning nine and drawing three of the 12 matches that have followed.

The hosts will be strong favourites to continue their push towards a top four spot with superior quality, form and home advantage enough to see off the Terriers.
The home side are favourites to win this game and realistically it should be very comfortable – a 4-1 triumph for the North London side would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Only Manchester City have scored more league goals than Arsenal (32) across the opening 14 matches – the Gunners are free-scoring and will see this as another opportunity to make a statement. Huddersfield have already shipped 24 league goals this season and conceded five goals in their only other trip to the Emirates, while they let in six at City earlier this year.

Despite the fact this should be a convincing home win, it is likely that both teams will score. Arsenal have already conceded 18 league goals this term – that’s one more than 14th-placed Crystal Palace – and have not kept a clean sheet in their last seven Premier League matches. This is one of the best options at online betting sites.

Statistics

Head to Head

Arsenal won 1-0 in Yorkshire back in May thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s strike while they ran out 5-0 victors against the same opponents in November 2017. Huddersield haven’t tasted victory over the Gunners since January 1971 and not in North London since 1954.

Stats

  • Arsenal are undefeated in their last 19 matches in all competitions, having lost each of their opening two fixtures this season.
  • The Gunners have netted 46 goals in that run – just shy of 2.5 per game.
  • Huddersfield have only managed nine league goals this season – fewer than any other side in the top flight.
  • The Yorkshire side have conceded just one goal more (24) than Manchester United this season.
