Chelsea will be looking to wrap up top spot in Group L of the Europa League, while Greek side PAOK will be looking to keep their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds alive.

Chelsea’s weekend took a turn for the worse when they surrendered their league unbeaten record to Tottenham in a 3-1 loss.

At the very least everything is going to plan in the Europa League. Four wins from four, they have already qualified for the next round of the competition and will finish top with at least a draw.

PAOK only have one win in the Europa League this season, and if they are to have much hope of qualifying for the knockout rounds, they will need some kind of a result against Chelsea or rely on BATE Borisov to help them out in the group’s other game.

But the gap in quality will likely see Chelsea march on, win 1-0 like they have for most of the competition.

Betting Tips

For all of Chelsea’s dominance in the competition, they haven’t scored too many goals in the process. Just six goals in four matches. They scored once at BATE and Tottenham and drew a blank against Everton in their recent games.

PAOK have not exactly banging them in either. A goals scored tally of four masks the fact that they were all scored in one game – a 4-1 away win at BATE Borisov. That means in three of their four UEFA Europa League matches, they have not found the back of the net. Don’t expect a thriller at Stamford Bridge.

It has been a good spell for the Frenchman in front of goal, scoring three goals in his last four games for club and country, including two in two for Chelsea.

While it is far from his most prolific season, he has found his touch in recent weeks and will likely get the nod for the game against PAOK ahead of Alvaro Morata.

Head to Head

The only meeting between the two-sides happened when they played each other earlier in the competition, with Chelsea winning 1-0 away.

Chelsea have never lost in their four other matches against Greek opposition, the most recent a 3-0 Champions League win back in 2008.

PAOK have also never lost on English soil in games against Tottenham and Arsenal in the Europa League and UEFA Cup.

  • Chelsea are one of four clubs boasting 12 points out of 12 from their opening four UEFA Europa League fixtures, the others being Salzburg (Group B), Dinamo Zagreb (D) and Eintracht Frankfurt (H).
  • No team has conceded fewer goals in the Europa League this season that Chelsea (1)
  • Chelsea are on a run of seven consecutive UEFA Europa League wins. That is the joint third longest sequence in the history of the competition.
  • This is PAOK’s 41st match in the UEFA Europa League group stage; only two clubs, Salzburg and FCSB, have played more.
