Europa League Quarter Final Arsenal vs Napoli
Arsenal vs Napoli Europa League

The match is over.
Score: 2-0.

The first legs of the Europa League quarter-finals get underway this week with the tie of the round seeing two of the tournament favourites go head-to-head in North London. The home side are slight favourites for this clash.

Arsenal are into the last eight of the Europa League having progressed past BATE Borisov and Rennes in previous rounds but have had to come back from away defeats in both ties.

Unai Emery won this competition on three separate occasions for Sevilla and his side are third favourites for this competition behind their quarter-final opponents and London rivals Chelsea.

Napoli have qualified for this stage of the competition having defeated Swiss side  FC Zurich alongside Austrian team RB Salzburg in the Round of 16.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are sitting second in Serie A but are a whopping 20 points behind league leaders Juventus, and seven points ahead of third-placed Inter.

The hosts will be slight favourites to triumph in this first leg due to possessing home advantage, but the two sides possess similar levels of form and quality.

The home side are favourites to win this game although it may not be comfortable – a 1-1 draw would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

Napoli have scored one goal or fewer in nine of their last 16 games while only one team has scored in four of Arsenal’s most recent five matches. This is likely to be a cagey affair due to the stage of the competition and the significance of the clash to both teams, making this one of the best online betting odds for this round of action. Unibet price it at 11/10.

The Gabonese striker already has four goals to his name in this competition this season and 22 in total this campaign. He has also found the net four times in his last four home appearances for the Gunners and is facing a team without a clean sheet in their last six matches. 10Bet have Auba at 10/11 anytime.

  • Arsenal have lost just two of their last 25 home matches in all competitions and have won 13 of their last 15 in that run.
  • The Gunners reached the semi-final stage of this competition last season before falling to a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Atletico Madrid.
  • Napoli have the second-best away record in Serie A – winning eight of their 15 games on the road and collecting 27 points in the process.
  • The Italian side have not won a major trophy since their Coppa Italia success in 2014.
