The match is over.
Score: 0-2.

With the depth in the Belgium squad and the sheer disparity of talent between these two nations, it shouldn’t be a shock to see the visitors as favourites and it’ll take something special for the hosts to get something out of this game.

Belgium will be clear and heavy favourites coming into this game so if you see low odds for most of the bets in this game, don’t be surprised.

Kazakhstan have had a mixed start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, picking up two comprehensive wins but also drawing once and losing on three occasions without looking likely to pick anything up from those games.

Belgium, on the other hand, have been flawless in this campaign and have picked up maximum points, six wins out of a potential six so far and have conceded just one goal.

Kazakhstan managed to start their group off with a big 3-0 win against Scotland before losing 4-0 to Russia and 3-0 to Belgium. They then beat San Marino 4-0, drew 1-1 with Cyprus and fell to another defeat against Russia.

A win for the away side would make it six games unbeaten against Kazakhstan and their fourth win in a row.

Roberto Martinez’s side are clear and heavy favourites to win this game although it may not be a big a margin as many suggest. A 4-0 triumph would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

It can’t be guaranteed that Belgium hammer Kazakhstan, not in the way some other of football’s minnows occasionally get mauled by a score approaching double figures. But Belgium should win comfortably, by a few goals, and backing over 3.5 goals covers a lot of options with top bookmakers. It’s Evens at 888Sport.

Martinez has some big names to turn to when looking for a goal – Lukaku and Hazard being the standout names. But there’s little value there, and the other Hazard brother, Thorgan, is a quality, dangerous player, capable of getting a goal. He’s 7/4 to score anytime at 888Sport.

Head to Head

These two sides have met on a handful of occasions before and this’ll be their sixth meeting overall. Belgium have won three of the games while the first two fixtures ended up as 0-0 in the first game and 2-2 a year later.

  • The first meeting took place in 2006 when the two sides held each other to a 0-0 draw, despite Belgium fielding players such as Vincent Kompany, former Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele and Thomas Vermaelen.
  • The next fixture was a 2-2 draw in Kazakhstan with Kevin Mirallas scoring and Marouane Fellaini started in midfield.
  • Belgium’s biggest win over Kazakhstan came in 2011 when goals from Timmy Simmons, Vincent Kompay, Eden Hazard and Marvin Ogunjimi gave Belgium a comprehensive 4-1 win.
  • The first win for the Belgium came in 2010 when Marvin Ogunjimi scored a brace in what was one of a young Romelu Lukaku’s first games playing for the Red Devils.
