Netherlands vs Estonia Euro 2020 qualifiers

The home side will be looking to clinch qualification to next summer’s finals as they round off their campaign at home to Estonia, who have already been eliminated.

The Netherlands have recovered from losing their opening group game at home to Germany by winning away to Die Mannschaft and winning their other group games to date.

Ronald Koeman’s side are strong favourites to join Germany in progressing automatically from the group while Northern Ireland are likely to go into a playoff spot.

Estonia have won just one point in their seven qualification matches to date – a recent 0-0 draw away to Belarus, who they trail by three points.

Karel Voolaid’s side look certain to finish bottom of the qualification group and are unlikely to pull off a shock result in this clash.

The hosts will be strong favourites to record a convincing win due to possessing home advantage, alongside holding vastly superior form and quality over Estonia.

The home side are favourites to win this game and it should be relatively comfortable – a 2-0 triumph for Ronald Koeman’s side would appear a likely outcome from it.

Betting Tips

The home side laboured to victories over Northern Ireland and Belarus in their recent matches while Estonia are a side who like to sit deep and offer little goalscoring threat. The visitors have just two goals to their name in seven qualification matches while the hosts are reliant on the unreliable forwards Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong and Ryan Babel, making this among the best online betting odds for the matchday.

The Liverpool midfielder has scored four goals in his last four international appearances and has scored six goals for the Netherlands across the past 12 months. He is a player who likes to run from deep into the opposition penalty area and is well priced to add to his goal tally here.

Head to Head

Netherlands won 4-0 in Estonia earlier in the qualification process and whilst Estonia have never beaten the Dutch, they did hold them to a 2-2 draw in a qualification match in 2013.

  • The Netherlands missed out on the 2016 European Championships and the following World Cup, before making the Nations League finals this year.
  • Estonia have just one point from their seven qualification matches to date and cannot qualify for next summer’s finals.
  • The away side here have struggled for goals all campaign – netting just twice in their seven outings to date.
  • The Netherlands have won six of their last eight internationals.
