Score: 1-0.

The first legs of Champions League quarter-final action gets underway this week with a mouth-watering all-English tie in North London between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, who are among the favourites to lift the competition this

Tottenham are at this stage of the competition for the first time since the 2010/11 campaign, having defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

Spurs also negotiated a tricky group which included Barcelona, Inter and PSV Eindhoven but will be outsiders for this clash against a side who they trail by 16 points in the Premier League table.

Manchester City are favourites for this clash and are highly fancied to win the competition outright this season, having defeated Schalke 10-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16.

Pep Guardiola’s side were eliminated by Liverpool at this stage of the competition last season but are likely to offer a more pragmatic approach to avoid the same fate this time round.

The visitors will be favourites to continue their recent winning form despite not possessing home advantage, as they hold superior form and quality over Spurs.

The away side are favourites to win this game although it may not be comfortable – a 2-1 triumph for the Manchester side would appear a likely outcome from it.
