Norwich vs Man City Premier League

Saturday September 14th, 12:30 pm

After a seemingly strong start to their new Premier League campaign and some impressive displays against top teams, Norwich will be looking to get a top six scalp soon enough, but perhaps not this weekend as the formidable reigning champions Manchester City turn up in Norfolk.

Predictions

Let’s be honest, this is going to be one heck of a tough match for Norwich, especially if they plan on getting all three points. City look dominant, despite how good Norwich have looked this season.

The Canaries will go into this game as straight up underdogs, with just one win from their first four games, a convincing home win against Newcastle.

City still look like they’ll be the team to beat this season despite their 2-2 home draw against Spurs earlier in the season, with this a perfect opportunity to make a strong statement.

Norwich lost away at Liverpool on the opening day of the season despite playing quite well in the second half, lost to Chelsea at home after that Newcastle win and failed to even score in a 2-0 loss away at West Ham before the international break.

City, on the other hand, have won three of their opening four games against West Ham, Bournemouth and Brighton, scoring 14 goals and conceding three out of the four matches so far.

The away side are favourites to win this game and it may be as big a margin as many suggest. Don’t be surprised if City record a 5-1 thumping or another kind of big win.

Betting Tips

City are overwhelming favourites for this clash so an away win carries very little risk. Although Norwich have earned themselves some fans this season with how they’ve played, that might be their undoing in this game. Norwich will be open and expansive in their approach to the game to try and nick an early goal, but City will punish them like they do everyone else, and this is among the best online betting odds for this midweek round of action.

These are lengthy odds for an outcome which is more probable than they reflect, simply because it seems so likely to happen? If City start a bit slowly and Norwich take an early lead to almost wake the visitors up before they go into the second 45 minutes ready to batter them, it doesn’t seem so far out of the realm of possibility.
